I accept credit and debit cards, checks, or cash. Payment is due at the time of service.

Do you accept insurance?

I don’t bill insurance directly. Many clients prefer this approach because it allows for greater privacy and flexibility. However, I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company to see if they will reimburse you for sessions. Every plan differs, so you’ll want to check with your insurance to understand your out-of-network benefits.

Why don’t you take insurance?

There are a few reasons. Insurance companies often require a mental health diagnosis to cover services, and they may limit how many sessions you can have or what kind of therapy you receive. Working outside of insurance allows me to focus on your unique needs without those restrictions. You and I get to decide what’s best for your care, not the insurance company.

Who do you work with?

I work with adult individuals—men and women—who are navigating anxiety, stress, church hurt, spiritual abuse, or just feeling stuck in life or faith. Many of my clients are Christians looking for a counselor who understands both mental health and spiritual concerns. However, I welcome clients from all backgrounds and beliefs. My primary focus is providing a respectful and supportive environment for all adults seeking help. If we’re a good fit, let’s work together.

I do not provide couples therapy or counseling for children or teens. If you're looking for those services, I will happily refer you to a trusted provider specializing in that area.

When are you available for sessions?

Availability may vary from week to week. Generally, sessions occur Monday through Thursday between 9 AM and 5 PM. I’m also available to answer questions in the client portal or check in by phone, as determined by the counseling plan we develop together. I see clients in person at my Maysville and Fort Thomas offices.

What can I expect in the first session?

Our first session is about getting to know each other. I’ll ask questions about what brings you to counseling, what’s been hard lately, and what you hope to get out of therapy. You’re free to go at your own pace—there’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready for. You can read more about what to expect here.

How many sessions will I need?

The length of counseling varies according to your concerns, goals, history, and the type of support you need. Some clients begin noticing greater clarity, hope, or a different way of responding to their challenges within the first few sessions. Patterns involving anxiety, perfectionism, shame, trauma, or spiritual wounds often require more time and steady work. The pace may also differ depending on whether you choose traditional 50-minute counseling, 90-minute extended sessions, or a focused therapy intensive.

We will regularly review your progress, discuss what is helping, and adjust the frequency or direction of counseling when needed. The goal is not to keep you in counseling indefinitely, but to provide enough support and depth for meaningful, lasting change.

Do you offer online sessions?

No and Yes. I offer online counseling—called telehealth—for established clients as a backup to in-person sessions. Many clients find this option convenient, especially when they experience a sudden work schedule change or feel a little under the weather. However, I do not provide online sessions for new client intake sessions or as a primary meeting space.

How do I pay for sessions?

You can pay using a credit or debit card, a check, or cash. All clients are required to keep a card on file through my secure system per the cancellation and fee agreements. You can also use the card on file for easy payment following your session.

What is the client portal?

The client portal is a secure, private space where you can fill out forms, sign documents, and send me confidential messages. Before our first session, I’ll email you a link to set up your portal. You’ll complete your intake forms there, and you can log in anytime to send me a message, check your schedule, or update your info.
